Dental bridge
When one or more teeth are missing, there are many ways to remedy the situation. Among these is the bridge or dental bridge.
The bridge will have the advantage of being a fixed solution unlike the removable partial denture.
Un bridge dentaire remplace une ou plusieurs dents manquantes en s’appuyant sur les dents adjacentes. A dental bridge consists of two (or more) dental abutments joined by one (or more) intermediate.
In a traditional bridge, the two dental pillars are the teeth on either side of the missing tooth. The intermediate is the prosthetic tooth replacing the missing tooth.
A dental bridge can replace more than one missing tooth, depending on the number of abutment teeth available and the number of teeth to be replaced.
As with the crown, the bridge will be either ceramic-metallic or ceramic-ceramic.
How is a bridge fitted?
Deux sessions sont nécessaires :
1/ Preparation of the teeth that will receive the prosthesis: under local anesthesia, the teeth are prepared with a burr. Then, an impression of the teeth is taken, then the session ends with the realization of a temporary bridge in resin
2/ Placement of the prosthesis using a cement sealant. And finally the last adjustments of the occlusion.
